Glass Beads Sales Go High In Nepal With Arrival Of Hindu Holy Month Of Shrawan
Woven glass beads are being kept on display at a local market ahead of the holy Hindu month of Shrawan in Kathmandu, Nepal, on July 14, 2024. According to Hindu belief, the fourth month on the Lunar Calendar marks the month devoted to Lord Shiva. Married and unmarried females are going fasting every Monday wearing sacred clothes. The married ones are keeping the fasting for a longer life of their husbands, whereas the unmarried ones are praying to Lord Shiva for the best match. With the start of the month of Shrawan, the sales of beads, mehendi, and filings are usually going up. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
