Taiwan: Typhoon Gaemi Makes Landfall Bringing Torrential Rains
Widespread flooding hit Taiwan as Typhoon Gaemi brought heavy rainfall on Thursday, July 25.
Gaemi made landfall around midnight on the coast of northwestern Yilan County. According to weather officials, it was the most powerful typhoon that struck Taiwan in the last 8 years with gusts of up to 227 kph (141 mph).
