Two Women Dead, Child Unharmed After Murder-Suicide Shooting Near Gracie Mansion In Manhattan New York City
Police from the Crime Scene Unit of the NYPD are arriving at the scene and investigating after two women are fatally shot in a murder-suicide near Gracie Mansion in Manhattan, New York, United States, on July 26, 2024. Two women are being pronounced dead after a murder-suicide shooting, Friday morning at 8:54 a.m. in front of 519 E. 88th Street near East End Avenue, which is half a block from Gracie Mansion, inside a vehicle in the Yorkville neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. Forty-five-year-old Marissa Galloway is placing her 4-year-old child in the car and is putting a stroller in the trunk when 65-year-old Cathleen Lee, who is the grandmother of her 4-year-old son, is approaching her. Police say that's when 65-year-old Cathleen Lee is taking out a 9mm Glock and shooting Galloway in the head and in the back as she is laying in the street at the back of the vehicle. Cathleen Lee, of Chicago, Illinois, is shooting herself in the head on the sidewalk and is being pronounced dead at the scene. Marissa Gallowa
