Greece: Wildfire Erupts In Central Eastern Evia, Villages Evacuated
A wildfire that erupted on Monday, July 29, in central eastern Evia quickly spread due to strong winds.
Villages near the fire including Petries, Krieza, and Koskina were evacuated. Authorities suspect arson as the cause of the fire.
A turbine in a wind farm in Petries reportedly exploded, sending debris down near a group of firefighters and volunteers. No injuries were reported.
