Daily Life At Sambranikodi Island
Indian tourists are standing on a small floating pier at Sambranikodi Island in Kerala, India, on April 06, 2024. Sambranikodi Island is situated at the southern tip of the Ashtamudi Lake in the Ashtamudi backwaters, approximately 10 kilometers away from the main city of Kollam. It is believed that during ancient times, small ships from China anchored along this coast. Local people referred to these ships as 'chambrani,' and later the place came to be known as Sambranikodi. Currently, Sambranikodi is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Kollam district. It is offering a breathtaking view of waterways fringed by lush mangroves.
