Commemoration Of The 80th Anniversary Of The Warsaw Uprising In Krakow
Krzysztof Jan Kleczar, Voivode of Malopolska, is commemorating the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising at Jan Matejko Square in Krakow, Poland, on August 1, 2024. On August 1, 1944, at 5:00 p.m. - the 'W' hour, the Warsaw Uprising is beginning, with the aim of liberating the capital from German occupation before the Red Army enters. The uprising is supposed to last a few days, but it falls only on October 3 after 63 days of fighting.
