Hashed al-Shaabi Supporters Demonstrate - Iraq
Supporters of Iraq's Hashed al-Shaabi raise a picture of slain political leader of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh, during a march in Baghdad to condemn the assassination as well as a US forces air strike that killed at least four members of the Hashed south of the capital, on July 31, 2024. The strike, which Iraqi sources said left at least four people dead, was the first by American forces in Iraq since February, when the US military said it killed a pro-Iran commander who was involved in attacks on the country's troops. The Palestinian militant group Hamas said on July 31, its political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli strike in Iran, where he was attending the swearing-in of the new president.
