Filipino salted duck eggs are being displayed at a food stall during the Taste of Manila Food Festival in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on August 17, 2024. In the Philippines, these already cooked eggs are being colored a very deep pink to differentiate them from chicken eggs and are being called itlog na maalat, which simply means salty eggs. The Taste of Manila Food Festival is taking place in the area popularly known as Little Manila and is the largest Filipino food festival in Toronto.
