Six People Shot, One Person Dead In Mass Shooting In Chicago Illinois
Six people are being shot, with one dead, in a mass shooting on the 5100 block of S. Ashland Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on August 20, 2024. At approximately 7:17 p.m., Tuesday evening, Chicago police officers are responding to a call of shots fired and are discovering multiple people have been shot. According to a witness, two unknown suspects are firing gunshots at five of the victims who are standing outside before fleeing the scene. One of the victims, a 39-year-old male, is in a vehicle driving by when he is struck by the gunfire. A 46-year-old male is sustaining a gunshot wound to the left torso and is being pronounced dead at the hospital. A 51-year-old male is sustaining a gunshot wound to the left foot and is in fair condition at the hospital.
