Two people are shot while driving on the 1000 block of N. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on August 21, 2024. At approximately 9:19 p.m. Wednesday evening, a 19-year-old male and a 21-year-old female drive northbound in an SUV on the 1000 block of N. Lake Shore Drive when a light-colored sedan pulls up next to them and a suspect fires gunshots from the vehicle, striking the victims. The suspects proceed to flee the scene. The 19-year-old male sustains a gunshot wound to the head and is in critical condition. The 21-year-old female sustains a gunshot wound to the left calf and is in fair condition.
