Protest Against Revision Of Regional Election Bill In Bandung, Indonesia
Thousands of demonstrators clash with police while holding Indonesian flags during a protest against the revision of the Regional Head Election Bill (RUU) in front of the West Java DPRD Building in Bandung, Indonesia, on August 22, 2024. The protest also takes place in several regions in Indonesia and is attended by tens of thousands of students, workers, and civil society. Indonesia's Constitutional Court rules on August 20 that parties do not need a minimum of 20 percent representation in their regional assemblies to nominate a candidate and also decides to uphold the current minimum age limit of 30 for candidates. The constitutional court's ruling bars the president's youngest son from running in regional contests in Central Java. (Photo by Ryan Suherlan/NurPhoto)
