Japan: Very Strong Typhoon Shanshan Inches Toward Kyushu 4
A very strong Typhoon Shanshan (No. 10) continued to approach southwestern Japan slowly on Wednesday, August 28, bringing widespread heavy rains and strong winds.
More than a hundred flights to and from Kyushu, one of the four main islands in the country's southwest, were canceled.
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a rare special typhoon warning for parts of Kagoshima Prefecture in southern Kyushu.
