A general view of Agios Charalampos beach near Hora Sfakion in Greece on August 28, 2024. Hora Sfakion is a popular town on the south coast of Crete island, touching the Libyan Sea in the Mediterranean. It is the capital of the remote and mountainous Sfakia region. The town connects by ferry through the small dock and road to the mainland. During the summer, it is a famous destination for tourists due to its beaches with crystal clear water and proximity to canyons, gorges like Imbros Gorge, and the White Mountains, Lefka Ori. Many hikers, after crossing Samaria Gorge, continue trekking to Hora Sfakion or pass through there via the connecting ferry from Agia Roumeli, Loutro, or Gavdos island.
