Typhoon Shanshan brought heavy rains and strong winds to southwestern Japan as it made landfall near Sendai, Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Kyushu Thursday morning, August 29. Rivers were swollen and muddy across Kyushu due to heavy rainfall. This video shows water flooding out of the river in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
