Japan: Tropical Storm Shanshan Causes Major Flooding, Mudslides, Leaving Multiple Dead
Tropical Storm Shanshan, which made landfall in southern Kyushu on Thursday, August 29, as a powerful typhoon, continued to move slowly east off Wakayama Prefecture as of Saturday, bringing widespread torrential rain to large swathes of Japan, including Hokkaido.
Shanshan caused flooding, downed trees, power outages, and mudslides across the country, leaving at least six dead.
