Outgoing French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire prior his audition by the National Assembly Finance committee at French Parliament in Paris, France, 09 September 2024, about the budget for 2025 that will have to be approved by the newly elected Parliament, where President Macron has no clear majority. At the beginning of September, the Finance ministry warned that the public sector budget deficit could reach 5.6 percent of GDP in 2024, higher than the 5.1 percent targeted.
