Summer Snowfall Over Gran Sasso D’Italia
Snowy Corno Grande peak (Gran Sasso d’Italia and Monti della Laga National Park) is seen after a snowfall from Ocre (L’Aquila), Italy, on September 14th, 2024. Italy was involved in a wave of bad weather that brought cold, rain and snow at high altitude. Corno Grande massif is the highest peak of the Apennines (2912 metres above sea level) and houses the “Caldron Glacier”, the southernmost in Europe. (Photo by Lorenzo Di Cola/NurPhoto)
