Halcyon Smyrnensis - Animal India
A White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) was seen sleeping with its white eyelids closed while perched on a branch in a forest in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on September 16, 2024. Also known as the White-breasted Kingfisher, this species is a tree kingfisher found across Asia, from the Sinai Peninsula to the Indian subcontinent, China, and Indonesia.
