Wildfires raged in central and northern Portugal, resulting in seven people dead, including three firefighters, and over 50 injuries as of Tuesday, September 17. The government asked for help from European allies. In Aveiro, the fires have destroyed over 10,000 hectares of forest and scrubland alone within the past two days.
