2nd Day Of Attempts By Gendarmerie To Clear The 'Verger' ZAD On The Planned A69 Highway
A protester blocked by a Gendarme films the destruction of a tree by an excavator driver. For the second day, the Gendarmerie and CNAMO try to dislodge 'Ecureuils' (i.e., 'Squirrels') from the trees they occupy at the 'Verger' ZAD (Zone to Defend). The 'Verger' ZAD is situated on the planned and disputed A69 highway project. As the Gendarmerie and CNAMO intervene, NGE/Atosca begins the destruction of the house and the cutting of all the trees. 'Zadistes' try to resist the Gendarmerie in the 'Verger' house without success. 'Ecureuils' (i.e., 'squirrels') live in the trees of the 'Verger' ZAD (Zone to Defend). The driver of the excavator is admonished by the Gendarmerie for his dangerous behavior with the excavator, putting human lives in danger. The main collective 'La Voie est Libre' (i.e., 'The Way is Free') wants the highway to be stopped until all the judicial decisions on the content are given.
