Heavy rainfall triggered flash flooding in several municipalities on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture on Saturday, September 21, leaving one person dead and 10 missing as of Sunday. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued an emergency rain warning, the highest level of alert, for the cities of Wajima and Suzu, as well as the town of Noto.
