On October 29, the DANA devastated several areas of Spain, with the province of Valencia being the most affected, where the storm left more than 220 people dead in its wake. Within Valencia, Paiporta was one of the most affected municipalities. The repair and reconstruction of the infrastructures damaged by the floods and their management has been estimated at more than 2,600 million euros by the Regional Ministry of Environment, Infrastructures and Territory, in addition to the amount of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, which has so far allocated 123 million euros to recover mobility in Valencia and 185 million euros to repair the suburban and high-speed rail network.
