Shrine dedicated to people who helped develop Hokkaido
Photo taken on Sept. 23, 2016, shows a religious facility on the premises of Hokkaido Jingu shrine in Sapporo on the northernmost Japanese main island of Hokkaido. The facility, called "Kaitaku Shrine," was built in 1938 to honor 37 people for their outstanding role in developing Hokkaido in the 19th century.
