US: M 7.0 Earthquake Hits Northern California, Prompting Tsunami Warning
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit near the town of Petrolia in Humboldt County, California, on Thursday, December 5, at 10:44 a.m. local time.
The National Weather Service issued a tsunami warning, now discontinued, that extended along 500 miles (800 km) of the California and Oregon coasts after the quake.
