Political Turmoil Arises In South Korea Following President Yoon's Failed Attempt To Declare Martial Law
A cafe next to the People Power Party's central headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, South Korea, on December 12, 2024, sees a citizen prepay KRW5 million (approximately $3,700 USD) to provide free coffee to anyone participating in rallies calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol during the cold winter. Visitors simply need to mention the code name ''Kim Min-ju (Kim Democracy)'' to receive a warm cup of coffee for free. Several other nearby cafes are also prepaid for the same purpose, and free food trucks are scheduled to be available this coming Friday. (Photo by Chris Jung/NurPhoto)
