Japan searches for WWII soldier remains in Palau
Workers search for the remains of Japanese World War II soldiers at a mass burial site on the island of Peleliu, Palau, on Dec. 10, 2024, as part of a Japanese government project. The remains of about 2,400 soldiers are still unaccounted for among the 10,000 Japanese soldiers who died on the tiny Pacific island that was the site of a fierce battle with the United States.
