President Yoon Suk Yeol's Arrest Imminent

The online media outlet Seoul's Voice provides free cup noodles to participants at the rally. On January 6, 2025, thousands of members of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), predominantly young people in their 20s and 30s, stage a protest near President Yoon Suk Yeol's official residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul, South Korea, calling for his arrest. President Yoon, currently suspended from office following his impeachment, faces growing public outrage. The Seoul Western District Court issues an arrest warrant for him in connection with his failed attempt to declare martial law, marking the first time in South Korean history that a sitting president faces such a situation. The arrest warrant is valid until midnight on January 6, and authorities, led by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the National Office of Investigation, are expected to attempt his detention again before the deadline.
