Epiphany Celebration Piraeus
An Epiphany celebration took place at a traditional small port in the Peiraiki area of Piraeus, Greece, on January 6, 2025. In coastal areas and ports, a central tradition involves the blessing of the waters. During the ceremony, a priest throws a cross into the sea, and young men dive in to retrieve it, symbolizing the purification of the waters and a blessing for good health and fortune in the coming year.
