Icelandic Sled Dogs

Icelandic Sled Dogs

A group of huskies rests during a sled dog trek across a tundra in the Husavik region of Iceland on December 30, 2024. Dog sled rides provide a way to explore the winter landscapes in the north of the country. Using mainly Siberian Huskies, known for their resistance to cold and ability to travel long distances, tourists experience a ride across the snowy tundra. Guided by local experts, these tours allow participants to interact with the dogs and learn about their training and the role they play in the Icelandic sledding tradition. This is a way to discover Iceland's arctic landscape. (Photo by Jorge Mantilla/NurPhoto)
