Calcot eating contest during the Festa de la Calcotada, in Valls, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain, on January 26, 2025 The last Sunday of January is celebrated in Valls the Great Feast of the Calcotada. Valls is known as the capital of the calcot for being the city of origin of the calcotada, at the end of the 19th century. During the celebration, popular events and competitions related to the Calcot of Valls are held, such as tastings, dances or demonstrations of roasting calcots.
