Tourism - Sambranikodi Island
A boatman heads to pick up Indian tourists from Sambranikodi Island in Kerala, India, on April 6, 2024. Sambranikodi Island is situated at the southern tip of Ashtamudi Lake in the Ashtamudi backwaters, approximately 10 kilometers away from the main city of Kollam. During ancient times, small ships from China anchor along this coast, and local people refer to these ships as 'chambrani,' leading to the place being known as Sambranikodi. Currently, Sambranikodi is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Kollam district. It offers a view of waterways fringed by lush mangroves. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
