80th Anniversary Of Nazi Concentration Camp's Liberation
Survivors lay wreaths and candles at the ''Wall of Death'' near block 11 of the former Auschwitz I camp during the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp in Oswiecim, Poland, on January 27, 2025. Auschwitz is a German Nazi concentration and extermination camp and remains the most recognizable symbol of the Holocaust. Jews from across Europe are murdered there, along with Poles, Roma, Sinti, and Soviet prisoners of war. On January 27, 1945, the Red Army enters the camp, liberating its prisoners. Delegations from over 50 countries gather to mark the 80th anniversary of its liberation. (Photo by Klaudia Radecka/NurPhoto)
