Month-Long Madhavnarayan Festival Ends Today
Devotees take a holy bath in the Hanumante River on the final day of the Shree Swasthani Brata Katha, a month-long festival dedicated to Goddess Swasthani and God Madhav Narayan. Throughout this month-long storytelling ritual, tales of Goddess Swasthani, God Shiva, and other deities are narrated while devotees recite sacred scriptures and pray for the well-being of their spouses. The rituals associated with the Swasthani Katha are performed on the banks of rivers at various Hindu shrines across the country. (Photo by Amit Machamasi/NurPhoto)
