Silent Protest demands release of political prisoners in Azerbaijan - Yerevan
Armenians gathered at the Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, Armennia, on February 28, 2025 to protest the continued detention of political prisoners held by Azerbaijan, including Ruben Vardanyan, a philanthropist and former Nagorno-Karabakh official. Vardanyan's health has sharply deteriorated after a week-long hunger strike. According to the Committee for Justice and Truth (CFTJ), as of November 2024, 23 Armenian hostages and political prisoners were still held in Baku's prisons without due process.
