Self-driving truck test

Photo taken on March 3, 2025, at a Tomei Expressway service area in Numazu in the central Japan prefecture of Shizuoka shows a truck that was used the same day for a self-driving test. The truck ran for about 115 kilometers between Numazu and Hamamatsu, also in Shizuoka Prefecture, using a special priority lane earmarked for the test conducted by the transport ministry amid a serious truck driver shortage in Japan.
