Holika Dahan
Flames reach heights of over 35 feet during Holi celebrations on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, India, on March 13, 2025. The people of the village get together and start massive preparations a fortnight before Holika Dahan. Paddy is collected along with wood, kites, bridges, and coconuts. A huge structure is made by collecting the materials for Holi. The Holika Dahan ritual is performed according to age-old traditions. A Hindu devotee offers prayers to a bonfire and walks around it. Holika Dahan takes place on Thursday, the full moon day of Phalgun. (Photo by Saurabh Sirohiya/NurPhoto)
