Procession of Jesus of Medinaceli on Good Friday - Madrid

Several horquilleros carry the throne during the procession of Jesus Nazareno de Medinaceli during Good Friday, April 18, 2025, in Madrid Spain. The procession, organized by the Archicofradía Primaria de la Real e Ilustre Esclavitud de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno de Medinaceli, consists of two pasos, the Cristo de Medinaceli, rescued by the Trinitarians in 1682 and Nuestra Señora de los Dolores en su Mayor Soledad, a carving made in 1948, both carried by costaleros. The throne that carries Jesus weighs 3.5 tons and reaches four meters in height. This procession is one of the most crowded of the Holy Week in Madrid.
