On Monday, April 28, around 2 p.m., a wildfire ignited in Nogok-dong, Buk District of Daegu, rapidly spreading to affect an estimated 50 hectares (123.6 acres) within two hours due to dry conditions and strong winds. The severity of the blaze prompted Daegu city officials to order the evacuation of over 1,200 residents and the closure of a nearby highway as a precautionary measure.
