Behind The Scenes Of The Vatican
Gardeners working in the gardens of the Vatican on November 10, 2025 . Between the box hedges and clusters of yews, we catch a glimpse of a group of gardeners busily digging, pruning and watering the foliage .This earthly paradise is maintained with great care and is open only to a few privileged visitors for security reasons. Umbrella pines, cedars, beeches and olive trees shadow the numerous pathways and flower beds. The gardens cover nearly one hundred acres of the Vatican's entire property. Besides the upkeep of the trees and plants, the gardeners also are in charge of providing floral decorations for ceremonies which take place on Saint Peter's Square and in the Basilica.
