On May 28, 2025, at approximately 9:33 PM local time, in Maoming, Guangdong, the dashcam footage captured a sudden flash of light in the sky. The video showed the night sky abruptly lit up, accompanied by a loud bang, as a fireball meteor tore through the atmosphere. The Maoming Emergency Management Bureau confirmed that the event had not been caused by lightning and advised residents not to panic, as no accidents or injuries had been reported. The video ended with the fireball fading from view, and the night sky returning to darkness.
