The mayoress of Teruel, Emma Buj, during the laying of the handkerchief to the Torico by the pena 'El Despadre', on July 12, 2025, in Teruel, Aragon, Spain. The laying of the panuelico to the Torico is the most emblematic and awaited act of the Fiestas del Ángel de Teruel, popularly known as "La Vaquilla". This event marks the official start of the big weekend of the festivities and brings together thousands of people in the Plaza del Torico. The festival consists of knotting a red handkerchief around the neck of the sculpture of the Torico. This year is the pena 'El Despadre', in charge of putting the scarf.
