Scorching Heat Torments Displaced Families - Syria
Many camp residents in Idlib suffer from the intense heat during the summer, due to the lack of basic cooling facilities and weak infrastructure, which exacerbates their daily suffering. Under the blazing sun, displaced families in makeshift camps across rural Idlib endure extreme summer temperatures on July 29, 2025. With little to no access to electricity, clean water, or ventilation, residents seek shade wherever they can and rely on rudimentary means to cope with the heat. The tents provide minimal protection from the scorching weather, and the absence of proper infrastructure worsens their hardship. Children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable, as humanitarian relief remains limited in the war-torn region. The heatwave highlights the fragile living conditions faced by thousands displaced by years of conflict, struggling not just with poverty and displacement, but also with climate-related challenges.
