A wildfire that broke out on Monday, August 11, near Madrid in the Tres Cantos area, killed one person and forced the evacuation of 180 residents. Emergency crews worked through the night to control the fire located 23 km north of Madrid. A man severely burned on 98% of his body was airlifted to La Paz hospital but later died.
