Emergency Level 2 Declared in Ourense as Fires Burn 4,300 Hectares - Spain
A seaplane tries to extinguish the fire, on August 12, 2025, in Seixalbo, Ourense, Galicia (Spain). The Xunta has decreed the level 2 emergency at provincial level in Ourense for large fires that, together, burn about 4,330 hectares, based on the latest estimates of the Consellería do Medio Rural. The activation of Situation 2 in the whole province implies a "greater agility" of means and resources of the Community and the rest of administrations for the province. In this way, the working hours of the personnel are also extended and the procedures with the different administrations, especially with the Military Emergency Unit (UME), are speeded up.
