Fuji on Aug. 14, 2025, from over a 1.4-meter-high screen that was set up by authorities to prevent dangerous behavior such as jaywalking in the Yamanashi Prefecture town of Fujikawaguchiko. In May 2024, the town erected a taller screen to block the view of Mt. Fuji towering over a Lawson convenience store after the photo spot went viral and sparked a surge in foreign visitors but the latest screen, set up in early August, was low enough to allow the view.
