Fires in Cipérez and El Payo Spread Amid Wind and Heat - Spain

Firefighters continue to extinguish the fire on August 16, 2025, in Cerezal de Puertas, La Ramajería, Salamanca, Castilla y León (Spain). The province of Salamanca faces two fires declared Potential Severity Index (IGR) 2, one originated in the town of San Cristóbal de los Mochuelos, located in the municipality of Cipérez, and the other in the town of El Payo, with reproductions this Saturday due to wind and high temperatures. The fire in Cipérez, in the region of Vitigudino, has forced to evacuate the towns of Gejo de los Reyes and Cerezal de Puertas, already exceeding 25 kilometers in length.
