US Virgin Islands: Hurricane Erin Brings Heavy Rain, High Winds, and Power Outages
Hurricane Erin intensified into a Category 4 storm on Monday, August 18. The storm is forecast to bring life-threatening rip currents and surf conditions across the U.S. East Coast this week.
Erin left nearly the entire island of St. Thomas without power over the weekend. In response, the U.S. Coast Guard is imposing restrictions on vessels at ports on the U.S. Virgin Islands.
