VAT petition reached Riigikogu

28.08.2025, Tallinn. Food blogger and MasterChef Estonia winner Jana Guzanova called for VAT on food products to be dropped from 24 percent to 10 percent. Estonia is one of the only countries in the EU that does not have a reduced rate of VAT on food products. Her petition, launched on the Citizen Initiative Portal (rahvaalgatus.ee), was signed by over 98,000. The petition was presented to Riigikogu today. Photo: Rasmus Rebase, Postimees
