Philippines: Typhoon Bualoi Batters Luzon and Visayas With Gusty Winds and Heavy Rainfall 4
Typhoon Bualoi, locally named Opong, battered Luzon and the Visayas with heavy rain and strong winds. It made six landfalls between September 25 and 26—first as a typhoon in Eastern Samar, then as a severe tropical storm in Masbate, Romblon, and Oriental Mindoro.
Thousands of residents were evacuated as a precaution, while authorities warned of possible flooding, landslides, and storm surges.
