Edan Alexander, an American resident of Tenafly, New Jersey, who was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7th, 2023, during his military service in Israel, puts on Tefillin (black leather boxes with Hebrew parchment scrolls, as he is honored by having a street in his hometown renamed “Edan Alexander Way” on Monday, September 29, 2025.
